BVRA (Bali Villa Rental Association) as the Only Legally Acknowledged Association of Villa Rental Agencies Operating in Bali, in cooperation with The Indonesian Red Dross-Bali (PMI) conducted a charity event called “Blood Donation Day” on October 21, 2009 taking place in Four@Drupadi Villa in Seminyak started from 9am to 12pm. This charity event involved all the members of BVRA as well as the villas’ employees around Seminyak as the participants. To be blood donors, all the participants were checked first to meet the basic blood-donor requirements, including good health and well-feeling, age at least 17 years old, weight at least 47 kg, pulse 80 to 100 beats/min, and blood pressure is 160/90 to 110/60.
The purpose of the program was to help PMI-Bali in maintaining sufficient blood supplies for medical treatments at the hospitals in Bali, particularly since blood donation is extremely important. A 350ml of blood that has been given by every person will surely help the patients who are in need of blood donation. The success of the event is also so much supported by all the supporting parties. The healthcare professionals from PMI-Bali worked hand in hand during the blood donation and all the participants have been very cooperative and enthusiastic. BVRA wishes this charity program can be conducted regularly by engaging more participants, not only the BVRA members, but also the more employees of villas in Bali as well as Bali hospitality related parties in a wider range.
