BASILICA DI SAN PIETRO Bologna, Italy
The Basilica of St. Peter was founded in 910th. There was extensive construction on this building between 1390 and 1426. Pellegrino Tibaldi put a choir in 1575 here, and in the seventeenth century, the nave was rebuilt in Baroque style.
The Basilica of St. Peter contains many treasures, such as Ratchet and Annunciation of the Virgin Mary and the Lamentation of Christ, and the marble lions at the entrance of romance. The basilica was designed by the architect named Antonio di Vincenzo.
The length of the Basilica of San Pietro is 132 meters and 60 meters wide. The central arch itself is 41 meters. The amount is a whopping 51 meters. Apart from some parts of the main entrance, a facade of pink and white marble make it more perfect. The building’s interior is decorated with marbles. There are eleven chapels dedicated to various saints here.
The Basilica of Saint Peter witnessed historic events such as the coronation of Charles VI in 1530th. The Basilica of San Pedro is still one of the most important tourist attractions in Bologna.
